Exciting Events in 2024 to Attend Near Augusta, ME
2024 is here, which means it's time to embark on some new adventures! Jellystone Park™ Androscoggin Lake is located just 20 minutes away from Augusta and all the events capital city has to offer! While there are plenty of things to do around Augusta, Maine year round, we found a few of the top events in the area so you can start planning out your entire trip ahead of time! Adventurous Augusta, ME Scavenger Hunt: May 23rd

This local scavenger hunt in Maine is a great way to explore the town and have some fun! Walk or drive to the various checkpoints as you interpret creative tasks, accept wacky challenges, and get outside your comfort zone! You'll text photos and videos to your remote host of the clues you discover as you play. You can even interact with the other participants to help you out with the creative challenges. Admission is one ticket per person, and the hunt is dog-friendly too! 

Wayne Farmer's Market: May 25th-September 2nd

The Wayne Farmer's Market is one of the biggest local markets and is located right on Mill Pond. There are a variety of vendors from quality cheeses, to wooden baskets, to fresh herbs. Not only are there dozens of vendors, but there is live local music and camaraderie every Saturday morning all summer long! This is a great place to stock up your groceries before visiting our campground near Augusta, Maine.

Seagrass at the Woodshed - Rock Dock Concert: May 26th

Join Seagrass at The Woodshed for the Rock the Dock Summer concert series. Bring your family and friends and enjoy good food, drinks, and live music. The Woodshed is a local favorite spot, owned and operated by hit reality TV stars, the Maine Cabin Masters. Enjoy the Rock Dock summer concert series this summer!

Maine Roadshow: June 11th

Maine Roadshow: A Roadside Tour of the State’s History, Culture, Food, Funk & Oddities is an exhibit illustrated with nearly 450 photos, taken by Tim O'Brien, during a five-year, thousands-of-mile journey exploring and documenting all corners of the state. Award-winning photojournalist, Tim O’Brien, explored the lesser known aspects of the state’s historic and significant attractions, while discovering interesting and often hidden roadside oddities and attractions. This is a free event open to all - check it out!

Lobster Bake with Maine Cabin Masters: June 23rd

If you're looking for things to do around Augusta, Maine that involve food, this is the perfect event to sign up for. Join the Maine Cabin Masters for an afternoon of live music, delicious Maine lobsters, photos, and autographs! The menu will include lobster, corn, cornbread, and cole slaw. Maine International Film Festival: July 12th-21st

Founded in 1998, the Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) is a project of the Maine Film Center. The 10 days of the festival showcase nearly 100 films, representing the best of American independent and international cinema, and spotlight some of Maine and New England’s most exciting and innovative filmmakers. If you're a movie buff, attend the film festival this year and see who wins the $5,000 grand prize!

Maine Quilt Show: July 25th-27th

Looking for new things to do in Augusta, Maine? Check out something crafty! The Maine Quilt Show will feature over 500 quilts, workshops, events, and activities to inspire you whether you’re an experienced quilter, beginner, or just an admirer of quilting! Windsor Fair: August 24th-September 2nd

When you visit the Windsor Fair, you'll experience a more rural side to the state! This nine-day-long event in Maine will feature entertainment, events, competitions, activities, and more! From apple pie eating contests, to tractor pulling, to firework shows, stop by the fair one day to enjoy all they have to offer! 

Live Edge Music Festival: September 7th

Want to experience a day full of music in the forest featuring four local Maine bands! We've got the perfect event in Augusta, Maine for you! Enjoy performances from Primo Cubano, Papa Tim & the Whiskey Throttle Band, and The Dooryarders. Plus, there will be local beer and delicious food served all day long at the Live Edge Music Festival. Fryeburg Fair: September 29th-October 6th

The Fryeburg Fair is the biggest fair in Maine! Since 1851, farmers have gotten together and thrown a fair to showcase their harvest, cattle, and produce to the community. Today, Fryeburg Fair sits on 185 acres and has over 100 buildings. The eight-day fair hosts over 3,000 animals including prize-winning draft horses, ponies, racing horses, oxen, dairy & beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits and much more.
