Nearby Areas for the Best Fall Foliage

As many of our campers know, our Maine campground offers stunning views of the fall foliage, but the beauty doesn’t stop there! The surrounding area is filled with even more picture-perfect spots to catch the vibrant colors of the season. Check out a few of our favorite scenic stops for unbeatable fall views!

Androscoggin Riverlands State Park

If you’re chasing peak fall color in Maine, Androscoggin Riverlands State Park should be at the top of your list. Tucked along the Androscoggin River, this hidden gem in Turner offers miles of hiking trails wrapped in fiery reds, oranges, and golds. The Old River Road Trail winds through hardwood forests and offers peaceful views of the water framed by changing leaves. With easy access and plenty of space for a picnic or leaf-peeping stroll, this park is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet, colorful escape into nature.

Height of Land

For one of the most iconic fall views in all of Maine, make your way to the Height of Land overlook. Perched above the sparkling Mooselookmeguntic Lake, this scenic stop explodes with brilliant foliage in October, painting the entire landscape in rich reds and yellows. The drive along Route 17 is stunning on its own, but once you reach the overlook, you’ll understand why it’s a bucket-list spot for leaf lovers. Whether you’re stopping for a quick photo or soaking in the panorama with a hot drink in hand, the Height of Land delivers an unforgettable autumn experience.

Grafton Notch State Park

If you’re looking for dramatic mountain foliage and crisp, cool air, Grafton Notch State Park is the place to be. Nestled in the Mahoosuc Range, this rugged park offers scenic trails that lead to breathtaking overlooks and hidden waterfalls—each surrounded by a tapestry of fall color. The Old Speck Trail is a favorite for hikers who want sweeping views from above, but even a short stroll near Screw Auger Falls puts you right in the middle of Maine’s autumn magic. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, breathe in the season, and take it all in.
